What are overgrips and replacement grips?

These are the two main types of grips you can buy on the market and they are generally made of polyurethane in the form of a soft flexible foam-like structure.

This material can be commonly found in everyday home furnishings such as furniture, beddings, and carpet underlays.

The purpose of these grips is to provide comfort and cushioning when you are using the racket.

• An overgrip is typically used on top of the existing factory grip that comes with the racket and are usually on the thinner side.

• A replacement grip, as the name implies, is meant to replace the factory grip on a racket and are usually on the thicker side. Recommended to take off original grip and put on top of the wooden handle underneath.
